Ann and John welcome you to their lovely tea shop and restaurant in Pateley Bridge

Granary Wide Shot

The Old Granary is a bustling high street cafe by day, ever-popular with both local people and the many visitors who come up to Nidderdale. Our customers may come in looking for just a good cup of tea and a (very, very good!) scone but often, once seated, decide to stay a while longer and enjoy a satisfying lunch or afternoon tea. Ann runs her kitchen with an efficiency developed over twenty years experience in catering, so your home-cooked food will be prepared to order and on your table when you would expect it to be. We use locally-sourced ingredients whenever possible and take a particular pride in catering for the particular dietary requirements of our customers. Our menus include a number of dishes suitable for vegetarians; several gluten-free options and dairy-free alternatives are also available.

On Fridays and, by arrangement, for group bookings on other nights of the week too, the Old Granary re-opens for the evening - and slows down a pace or three - to become one of the most highly regarded restaurants in this part of the Yorkshire Dales, serving traditional British dishes at their very best.

We regret that we are unable to take payment by credit card or debit card, or cheques for less than £10, but a cashpoint machine nearby accepts cards from most issuers. It's certainly possible to pay more elsewhere, but we genuinely believe that it is difficult to find better food, a warmer welcome or a more congenial and relaxed atmosphere.
